| Description of the problem | My wife and i were riding down to the keys of florida from nc when just before entering the florida state line a loud panging noise started in the motor. I took the bike to adamecs harley davidson of jacksonville florida to find out what the problem was. They tell me the lower main bearing has eaten into the case of the motor. Pretty much the motor is shot. I've been a h. D. Owner-rider for 33 years. I take this bike to the h. D. Dealer for regular schedule services and run only h. D. Synthetic oil. I've never had a bottom end go out till now. With only 52000 miles i don't think it should now either. Since this has happened i've been talking to people and have already come up with 4 other people this has happened to. I think harley davidson has a defect bearing or something down there. |
